Another year of Blue Wave soccer has come to an end with both the Blue Wave ladies' and men's teams finishing third in the district.

The Lady Blue Wave finished the season 8-5 and 4-4 in the district.

"This team has had to fight through adversity all season," said MSMS Lady Blue Wave coach Chuck Yarborough. "It was fantastic to send off this group of senior girls not only with a victory, but also with one of the most complete team efforts we've had all season."

On an individual level, Michelle Li led the district this year in goals against average with 0.8, while India Yarborough led the district in saves with 31.

The men's team finished the season 6-6 and 3-5 in the district.

"Our boys showed the kind of character every coach wants to see in his players," said MSMS Men's Blue Wave coach Dylan Mims. "The boys left it all on the pitch and finished off a great season. I'm proud of everything they've accomplished."

At MSMS we have high expectations in the classroom, but students who attend don't have to surrender extracurricular sports and activities to participate in our academic offerings.  MSMS offers a wide variety of varsity sports, including Blue Wave cross country, swimming, soccer, and tennis. There are over fifty extracurricular clubs as well, including intramural athletics, public service clubs, political clubs, cultural clubs, and faith-based clubs to name a few.

Once again, congratulations to a great Blue Wave soccer season! Up next in Blue Wave sports, tennis. The first match of the season will be March 3rd against Aberdeen.
