The Mentorship Program provides a hands-on learning experience for those students interested in a specific career path. It allows students to be paired with a local mentor in their chosen field who will provide them insight into the workings of their profession. The program is intended to give students experience in a workplace setting, allow them to gain insights into themselves and their career choices, and encourage students to make a beneficial contribution to their mentor and his or her workplace.
Students spend approximately three hours per week with their mentor. Students may participate for either one semester (35 hours) or two semesters (70 hours). Completing two semesters earns a student a 1/2 unit of elective credit.
