Crypto Craze is one of many classes at the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science summer camp. Students say that it is fun way to learn about different codes and how to decrypt them. They learn how to think in different ways, support creativity, and challenge the mind. By using math and logic, students are able to understand hidden messages. The class will take students on a journey of understanding other forms of communication when needed. Some of the many encryptions include the Caesar Cipher, The Matrix, Number Cipher, etc. Crypto Craze II teaches the students the history of crypts as well.
For those in the class, student Victoria Maxwell enjoys the challenge of the class and is looking forward to encrypting and decrypting in the future. They also learn the history of codes from around the world.
“The class is about studying the ways to send a hidden message,” said Crypto K, the teacher of the class.
This class is at the MSMS summer camp and it runs from Sunday June 14 to Friday June 19.For more information on the courses taught at the MSMS summer program, go to www.themsms.org.
