The Mississippi School for Math and Science’s summer program offers a class called Positively Medieval. In this class, kids learn about the science behind medieval techniques. Some activities include dyes, paper making, and creating siege weapons.
“This is a very hands-on class,” said Jake Bozlee, a counselor and helper in the class, “There’s not a whole lot of lecturing going on. You hear the science behind it as you’re putting the stuff in, instead of looking at a power point.”
The class is taught by Catherine Koehler, a medieval historian.
