The MSMS Blue Notes have hit the road for the 2016 Sites and Sounds Tour! From Thursday, October 11 until Sunday October 30, these musically inclined students will perform in several different Mississippi communities all over the state.
On Thursday, the students will leave the campus and head to Greenwood where they will take the Delta Legends tour. They will then go to Clarksdale and visit the historic Hopson Commissary. The next day, Friday, the Blue Notes will move north to Tunica where they will perform at Tunica Academy. While in Tunica, the group will visit the Gateway to the Blues, Highway 61 Museum. That afternoon, the students will leave the state, and head to Memphis where they will visit the Rock and Soul Museum and the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. The next day, the Blue Notes will be in Cleveland where they will perform at the newly opened Grammy Museum. The students will make a final trip to Indianola, where they will perform at the First United Methodist Church in the city.
Later this month, the Blue Notes will hit the road again, this time however, they will head south to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. On Saturday, November 12, the MSMS students will perform in D'Iberville as a part of the Gulf Coast Veteran's Day Celebration.
