This past weekend 30 MSMS students participated in the 2-day Mississippi Model Security Council hosted by Mississippi State University (MSU). MSMS students helped represent 16 countries during the competition.
In Council 1, Nathan Barlow and Isaiah Williams represented the United Kingdom and won Best Resolution.
In Coucil 3, Chris Lowe represented the United Kingdom and won Best Delegation.
In Council 4, Alex Denette and Agrippa Kellum represented France and won Best Resolution.
In Council 5, Katie Shy and Mariah Warner represented Russia and won Best Delegation.
In Council 5, Michelle Li and Nathan Methvin represented France and won Best Resolution.
According to the Department of Public Science and Public Administration at MSU, Mississippi Model Security Council is an academic simulation of the United Nations Security Council that aims to educate participants about international relations, public responsibility, effective communication, globalization, and multilateral diplomacy.
