A special preview of this year's Tales From the Crypt took place last Friday. The performance was shared with special guest John Purifoy, composer of "Chronicles of Blue and Gray."
Purifoy was in town, along with visiting singers from Tennessee and Florida, to perform his musical piece "Chronicles of Blue and Gray" with the Columbus Choral Society and Starkville/MSU Symphony Orchestra. The performance, which took place at the Mississippi University for Women's Rent Auditorium, was seen by a sold out crowd of over 1,000.
"It was such an honor to have Mr. Purifoy here this weekend," said Lori Pierce, MSMS faculty member and founding board member with the Columbus Choral Society, "What a special way to usher in the 75th anniversary of the Columbus Pilgrimage."
This year is also the 25th anniversary of MSMS's storied program Tales From the Crypt.
