In the class “All About Agincourt” at the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science Summer Enrichment Camp, students learn about the medieval technology used in the famous Battle of Agincourt.
The students in the class are learning about archery and comparing different types of bows and arrows used in the battle. The class is lead by medieval historian Catherine Koehler, or “the Mediva”, and her assistant, Dajah Carter, a counselor at the camp.
“It’s cool to actually be able to shoot a bow and arrow. It’s not something you usually get to do in class,” said Carter.
The Battle of Agincourt was a 15th century French battle against England that relied heavily on archery.
