College Prep 101

The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science is partnering with Get2College to bring the community and the state of Mississippi College Prep 101.

This free event will be held in Nissan Auditorium on the campus of the Mississippi University for Women on Monday, Oct. 3 at 6:00 pm.

The seminar is designed to help current juniors and seniors navigate the often confusing and tricky process of applying to college and for scholarships. Importantly, this event is not just for MSMS students, but any Mississippi student (and their families) who are looking for an edge in the college/scholarship application process.

This seminar is the brainchild of current MSMS student Madalyn Coln.

The event will be streamed live from the MSMS website at www.themsms.org/livestream and will be archived for later viewing.

The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science is Mississippi’s only public, residential high school specifically designed to meet the needs of the state’s most academically gifted and talented students. Serving Mississippi juniors and seniors, MSMS graduating classes are offered tens of millions in scholarship dollars each year. This program, is meant to provide area students with the same strategies and tactics MSMS students employ when applying for colleges and scholarships.

Get2College is Mississippi’s recognized expert resource for college admission and financial aid advice. The organization offers students and their families a comprehensive program to help plan, prepare, and pay for college. Get2College is a program of the nonprofit Education Services Foundation. Get2College provides free counseling services in centers in Jackson, Ocean Springs, and Southaven and the organization supports high school counselors throughout the state in helping students get to college and be successful there.

This event is free and open to the public. Should you have any questions, please feel free to email MSMS Counselor Dr. Heath Stevens at hstevens@themsms.org or by calling 1-800-400-4656.
