Home School Supplement Admission

For students who wish to apply for admission at The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science (MSMS) and have not earned the required ten (10) credits in an accredited school but can claim that they have acquired the related skills and knowledge through an organized home instruction program, the following revisions in criteria will apply:

  1. The requirement to have earned ten (10) Carnegie units will be waived;
  2. The student must achieve a score on the ACT which is equal to or greater than the average ACT score of the previous year's entering class.
  3. All Students must pass the Subject Area Test in Algebra I, English II (with writing component), Biology I, and U.S. History before graduating MSMS.
  4. Students seeking to transfer from any school, public or private, within or outside the boundaries of the State of Mississippi, to a public school within the state may be required to take a test to determine the grade and class to which the pupil shall be assigned at the time of pupil transfer.
  5. Students shall provide proof of residency in the state of Mississippi by completing a Declaration of Legal Residence form providing proof of residency in the state of Mississippi.

TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION PROCESS, HOME SCHOOL STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING FORMS:
